It's difficult to find a tutor who has experience in both an academic subject but also has experience in teaching students with learning difficulties. FoxTuition have specialist tutors (which many tutorial companies would struggle to find) and a specific methodology that they employ with every student.
Because I am dyspraxic, my memory is awful, so the way I learnt things with my tutor was going over it again and again and again. That way showed me that getting a good grade was possible. We focused on me practising exams which I knew was important but I didn't know how important. What is funny is that you can get a bad mark for a question even if you know the answer because you don't have good technique. We did one every week so by the time I approached exams I was a lot more prepared than usual
"I must say I have been extremely impressed with the service they offer. First of all, they DO seem to "get" the crucial fact that children with learning difficulties aren't "thick" or "lazy"; they just need to learn in a different way. "My initial experience on the phone was very positive, and my son was quickly set up with a personal online mentor/ revision organiser, plus an individual online tutor for one particular subject he was struggling with. Fox Tuition approach is very pragmatic "can do", which I really felt was tailored to my son's needs. The first thing it gave him was a "structure" to his revision, which I think immediately relieved a lot of pressure - most schools, no matter how supportive, expect students at this level to organise their own time and be responsible for their own revision. FoxTuition was also good for his organisational skills because he had a one-to-one relationship with people who he felt had his personal interests at heart. The fact that he had to engage with a tutor one-on-one and interact with them personally three of four times a week made him feel more responsible and gave him control over the organisation of his revision – something that we as parents had consistently failed to achieve over the years, despite strenuous efforts.
"It was pleasing to see Sarah's grades and equally important, her confidence, improve with Fox Tuition"

"I couldn't see how I was ever going to get through all my notes and topics, but we divided it up into daily chunks and it made me feel more in control of my situation. I knew that it was just a matter of taking it day by day and week by week."
"It was a lot harder work than I expected and the tutor set me regular exam practice but I raised my grade from a C to an A"
"I've found Fox Tuition quite cool and different, because you can talk to your tutor and be connected through the internet. It's really useful, because save all your work after the lesson and you won't ever lose it. I find that time flies more quickly in my Fox Tuition lessons, I really enjoy the lessons. "
"It took a while to get used to your tutor not being over your shoulder, but I didn't find talking through the internet weird. The lessons go much more quickly than when I had tutors come to my house; I had to meet them at the door and make them a cup of tea before we got started-now we just get going with the click of a button. Doing it online is a far more efficient use of time. You work much faster than in school; you're less distracted and you get more work done. I'm going on holiday to France next week and I can still have my lessons. I have seen an increase in my grades in Economics. I didn't do as well as I was hoping in my mocks, and I got a B in Economics, mainly due to a lack of revision. Now we have worked on my techniques and I'm looking for an A in my AS exam. I feel much more confident in my chances. We recently did a past paper in school and I got 90% on unit 1 – market failure, a topic which I got 39% in before I started with Fox Tuition"
"Just to let you know that Saskia's results were unexpected! B's in both English language and literature, utterly brilliant for a dyxlexic that was predicted a D in Janruary! "
"thank you so much, I passed! Got a B, so happy"
"Alex did pretty well - thanks to you all -he got C's in both English exams with an overall B in additional science with his additional units getting a B in chem and C in biol and an A * in physics Thankyou all !!"
"Great news. Grade A in Geography AS ! Will be in touch about next term"
